So I didn't change the bulb and now it's a year and several months later. I still get that message. But what happens to an aging bulb? I don't notice a quality difference but it may be because I'm just used to it. Otherwise, why did it suggest I change the bulb? I don't even know how!!!!I have a 50'; Sony Wega TV. I've had it for 3 years. About a year ago it said ';change bulb soon'; on screen...?
There is actually a way to remove that message in your settings. I have a 46'; Sony in one of my rooms and I got that message too although I didn't see a difference. I called Best Buy since my 2 year warranty was almost up and they brought out a new bulb and installed it within less then 5 minutes. The guy who did it picked up my remote control and went to some system settings and basically hit the ';reset'; button which took away that message but I'm sure there is a timer on when that message should pop up again. The replacement bulbs are only about $100 and with mine it has a side panel on the TV that you just pop out, reach in and grab that old bulb, give it a twist and take it out and just repeat those steps to put the new one in. Its actually real simple. The hardest part for you would be finding what replacement bulb your TV uses but after ur done you will basically have a brand new TV for $100.I have a 50'; Sony Wega TV. then your bulb will burn out and you cant watch tv anymore until you buy new bulb for your tv
