How do i change/look for the dimmer switch on my 00 trans am?!?

If it is anything like my 2000 Grand Caravan, you open the rear liftgate and look at the taillight assembly. There should be two phillips head screws. Remove those and rotate the lens out and away from the inside of the van. loosen the two screws on the rear of the speaker grille. These screws are found if you reach around from the front and are finger hold screws. No tools are needed for this. Then pull the speaker grille from the front of the tv. then remove the screw holding the door closed using a coin or flat blade screw driver. Then remove the door and lamp using a allen wrench (this wrench comes with a new lamp in case you don't have one). Reinstall and reset lamp timer if needed, this instruction comes with the new lamp. This info is on page 20 of your owners manual. Make sure it's cooled off and don't touch the front glass of these lamps.

You have to depress on 2 spring clips on either side of the bulb holder and pull all the bulbs out. Be careful to pull out straight because you can break all the other bulbs.
Press down on the bulb and turn to remove it. That's it replace the bulb and push back the bulb holder.

Very often products are made to clip in - using fewer screws saves manufacturing costs, so once you've removed all visible screws, use a flat blated screwdriver in any likely slots to pry one side while pulling on the part you need removing. Do not try to remove it in one go like a paint tin lid - but use a constant pull with prying at multiple points along 2 adjacent sides. these thing are a pain in the a r se to get out. They run really hot, which distorts the holders and they can be a devil to get out.
the lamp is probably a ';push and twist'; fit, but it fits flush into the holder . Its hard to get a grip on it with your bare hand but try a big lump of blu-tak.
The other thing I have done, is see if you can get some cardboard in between the edge of the lamp and the fitting. Like a cardboard tube, then when you screw the tube up ( whilst pushing and turning it anti - clockwise) it should pop out.
I always put a dot of high temperature copper grease on the prongs of these lamps when I fit them. They can be hellish things to get out.
Incidentally there are LED lamps coming on the market nowadays which are direct replacements for these hot halogen lamps. I have never really liked the halogens.How to remove Halogen ceiling spotlights and change the bulb?
IF like you say you have taken off the round ring, i would assume that this is a low voltage downlighter.
These fitting usually use a floating lampholder, you need to pull the lamp from the fitting and the cable and lamphold should come with it.
From wht has been said i think that the cable has either become snagged or has acctually got stuck (its insulation has melted).
With this in mind the only way i can see that it can be removed is to gently pull the whole fitting out of the ceiling. The fiiting itself should be held in with 2 large springs.
Be warned 1 off 2 things will happen, 1 the ceiling around the fitting the plaster could come away and 2 your fingers with get in the way when the spring snaps shut once it is clear of the ceiling
Many halogen bulbs have two small locking pieces on the back of the bulb. You have to push in gently, then while keeping the pressure in, give it a slight turn and it will pop out. Look ar a new bulb first and it will become clear.

Once the bulb is out, you can probably remove the outer ring which just slides in and out so you can paint around the unit.

Vauxhall corsa 03 plate inside bulb change?
I have a Vauxhall corsa 03 plate and the backlight where the radio station and time show in the middle console has gone. Does anyone know how to get to this bulb? Do i have to take the whole dashboard out, just the middle console?

This is more common, than the finial nut holding a whole glass assembly like that - and if the glass framework is open at the bottom (something we can't tell from the photo), then it is definitely not the bottom finial nut.
If all else fails, call their customer service number, and have them look it up, hehehe.

You will first need to remove the front bumper, it has a 8 mm bolt at the edge near the corner of the fender and a bunch of plastic retainers that break easy so be careful when removing them (special tool needed) Once the cover is off there will be access to remove the headlamp assembly, then you can flip it over and install your hid lamps. The headlamps are held on with 10 mm bolts. good luck

It is done mostly at night when traffic is the lightest because of where you need to orient the boom lift truck to do the repair. generally right in the middle of the intersection.I've never seen anyone change traffic light bulbs. Traffic lights are on 24/7 how do they not burn out?

The plastic caps that hold the bulb in simply have to be turned..........and mine were stuck pretty good! ( 97 accord) If you/brother happen to have a pair of channel lock pliers it makes it very simple and saves the flesh from the palm of your hand.....should be a 5 minute job.How do I change the bulb on a 97 Honda Accord? I would suggest to take it first to a local parts store like auto zone, advance, or Oreilly and ask on of the nice boys to do it for you. If that does not happen let a local aftermarket repair shop help you for a small fee (around FREE if they want your business or $5-$10 dollars).

A brake light has gone on my audi a3 and I thought yep I'll just replace it but it's all panneled in. I have changed bulbs on Vw's with not hassle, just unclip the small panel and replace it but on the audi a3 it's all boxed in. To change the bulb you will need to remove the rear light cluster. Inside the boot you will see a round coloured (same as interior trim) Remove this and you will see a bolt that needs to be removed and the whole light fitting will be free to remove and then you can access the rear of the light like you could on the other cars. Be careful not to let the light drop when you undo the bolt and also not to Over tighten it when re fitting.Can I replace the brake light bulb on my audi a3 or do I need to take it to audi to do?
Its not to hard to do! Inside the boot behind the light cluster there is a blank plug that you need to pop out about the size of a 50p. In there you'll see a long plastic hex nut with a slot in it. It easier to use the screw driver in your spare wheel kit (probably designed for the job!). Unscrew this nut BE CAREFUL not to drop it in inside! You then need to hold the rear cluster by the inside edge (boot open) and pull it out a bit to clear the thread you have just removed the plastic nut from. Move the cluster outwards and sidewards which will pop the side of the light out of the side part of the bodywork. Its only held in by 2 plug style things in rubber gromets. The rest is simple, the bulbs are held on a circuit board like any other car in the back of the cluster. I would use phillips bulbs though, I put some cheap petrol station ones in and it kept blowing them! Hope this helps!

I think the seller was right. The bulb in the projection tv's loses its freshness two years later. It depends on your usage style, of course. but in general, the projections have less lifespans than plasmas, lcd's and other type of image sources.

The bulbs are not user-serviceable. They are soldered on the board. You can swap the control unit, or, if you're very good at soldering, you can remove the bulb(s) and solder in new ones. I had a 97 Civic,so yours is probably the same, just behind the lamp assy you will see a black knob with two or three wire attached to it,just turn it 1/4 CCW and pull gently out.
P.S. there may be something in your way like the battery.

My light is out on my Pfaff Creative 7570 and have tried to take it out, but it is such a tight spot that I can't unscrew it. Does the side panel come off so I could access the light bulb better? How do I change the bulb above my license plate?
I have a 2005 Hyundai Elantra. I noticed last night that the left bulb above my plate is out. I took out the lining in the trunk and when i look at where the assembly hooks up i don't see ';screws'; like some people say. Walk around to the back of your Sentra and gently pry the taillight cover away from the rear quarter-panel.
Loosen the turn signal bulb socket by turning it counterclockwise and remove it from the taillight assembly.
Press the old bulb into the socket, turn it counterclockwise and pull it out. Dispose of the bulb immediately to prevent it from becoming a hazard.
Screw the new bulb into the socket until it stops twisting. Avoid placing too much pressure on the bulb, as this may cause it to crack.
Turn your car back on and activate the turn signal. If the bulb blinks, press the taillight cover back into place.

Working from inside the boot, there are 2 round plastic covers top and bottom where the light fitting are on the body. prise out the covers with a small screwdriver. you will then find little metal nuts that hold the light fitting in place. undo these nuts anti clockwise. they are usually only hand tight, however I have come across some that had to be undone with a 14mm socket or a pliers. Once thes nuts are removed, the whole light fitting can be pulled away from the body of the car. Pull it straight up, and replace it with either the bulb under the spring at the bottom of the flashlight, or go to walmart/wherever, sport dept. and get two for ..whatever. Three dollars? Then just plug the new one back in, put it together, and go!
The bulb will pull out- don't be shy, it will not break. There will be a replacement bulb under the spring in the cap you take off to change the battery, housed in a red plastic sleeve. If that fails, there are generally sold at the cigerette aisle in walmart.

on most models you will have two 8mm headed bolts i believe both on the bottom of the light assembly remove them and pull the Assembly out then you can just remove the bulb by twisting it counter clock wise then reverse to reinstall

In my Ford Explorer (which is the Ford version of a Mountaineer, I think), I replaced several head lamps in the whole 5 years I had it. You have to go in through the back side of the headlight. You open the hood and twist the entire light assembly loose. Then you just unplug the bulb and replace it with a good one.

How to change a halogen light bulb?
Just had a load of little halogen downlighters fitted in my kitchen, and one has blown already. My problem is how to access the tiny bulb behind the glass. It seems to be held on with a very strong band of wire, which comes out in a triangle over one edge of the glass and the two ends of the wire come slightly across the glass on the opposite edge. Have tried prying the wire off at both these access points to no avail %26amp; don't want to break the glass. Ignore the instructions on touching and turning the lamp to remove it. Since you have a securing clip it is unlikely that you have lamps which turn to fit and remove, I have never seen such fittings. Those lamps are called GU10. You will have GX5.3,- 12 volt 20/35/50 watt lamps which have two pins, these lamps pull straight out, if the lamp is so far back that you cant grip it, you should have been giver a little black suction cup by the installer to pull it out. If not you may be able to wiggle it out with a thin blade. As far as touching the lamps goes, go ahead, there is no risk of fire or anything else. This reply is confusing the fact that you should not touch a BARE halogen lamp as oil from your skin will stain the glass. The bulbs that I suggest you have are protected by the outer glass. I have fitted thousands of these fitting over the years, and replaced even more lamps!

To remove the bulbs I just pushed the two metal springs together, while holding the bulb, allowing the ring to pop out slightly and then fully remove. To replace the bulb, just insert the two metal pointers at the end of the bulb into the tiny copper inserts in the socket. Push hard to fit.
Most electrical supply houses have plastic tweezers plier things that grab the bulb, this does two things safly removes the bulb and keeps the oils from your fingers off the bulb

After you get the bulb out, you'll have to put a new one in. Please DO NOT TOUCH THE GLASS on this new bulb with your fingers. This is a FIRE RISK. The oil from your fingers can cause the intense light to refocus and, just like using your magnifying glass to burn a leaf, the same thing can happen to your ceiling, furniture, etc. Use gloves (or at least tissues or a paper towel when handling the new bulb.

To remove the bulbs I just pushed the two metal springs together, while holding the bulb, allowing the ring to pop out slightly and then fully remove. To replace the bulb, just insert the two metal pointers at the end of the bulb into the tiny copper inserts in the socket. Push hard to fit.

The oil from your fingers can cause the intense light to refocus and, just like using your magnifying glass to burn a leaf, the same thing can happen to your ceiling, furniture, etc. Use gloves (or at least tissues or a paper towel when handling the new bulb.

I wouldn't have thought you would have to take a bumper off to change a consumable item like a headlight bulb. If you can get at the back of the headlight unit and there should be a rubber cap type thing which hides the connections and bulb holder most cars you unclip the bulb holder and pop the bulb out. Try ringing the peugot dealer nearest you and ask a friendly mechanic. Just say you don't want to bring it in for such a silly fault. Failing that ring your breakdown people or buy a Haynes manual. You may have to move the power steering out of the way to get to the bulb if the headlight is on the drivers side. Just pop the power steering canister out of place (it will stay connected) and reach for the bulb.
there is a retaining ring that holds the buld into the headlight assembly. to replace the bulb, first disconnect the connector from the old bulb. There is a tab on the top of the connector that pushes backward (toward the engine) and with the tab released and held back you can push the connector downward to remove it. On many of the older cars you need to use a flat blade screwdriver to push the sides of the connector downward because the connectors are stuck on from years of dirt and grime buildup.
with the connector removed you can reach the retaining ring that holds the bulb in. the retainer ring is a circular ring that locks the bulb in place. to release the bulb you turn the retaining ring counter-clockwise (when looking at the ring from the engine). The ring should turn between 1/8 and 1/4 turn before the bulb will pull out. The bulb comes out straight rearward.
you replace the bulb by reversing the above steps. As a caution, don't handle the bulb by the glass; only touch the plastic housing or you'll cause the new bulb to fail prematurely.
you may have to remove the power steering reservoir or the air inlet tube on some models (the thing that looks like a periscope on the right side--it just pulls straight up and out) to get to the bulb if you have big hands, but it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

i own a repair shop,and you should be able to get to it from the back side of it,,all you have to do is twist the ring thats holding the bulb in,and the whole thing will come out,then its easy to change on it,,you may have to move something out of the way to get to the back of it though,good luck i hope this help,s.

If you rotate that CCW the socket should pull out with the bulb in it. Remember don't touch the new bulb with bare hands, if you do, clean it with rubbing alcohol. The oil from your skin will make a new bulb burn out pronto. Bring the old bulb to the auto parts store they will match it up. Good luck

There are two metric hex bolts that need to be removed from the top of the headlight frame under the hood. The entire plastic headlight will drop out in your hands. In the back of the headlight there is a large plastic ring that must be turned counter-clockwise before the bulb assembly can be removed.
It's important not to touch the glass part of the new bulb with your hands. Double-up a layer of Kleenex between our fingers and the bulb. The reason for this precautionary measure is the natural oil on your fingers will cause a hot-spot on the bulb when it illuminates causing it to fail.
Very carefully wipe *silicone ignition grease on the orange colored O ring at the base of the bulb socket. Silicone grease displaces moisture inside the car electrical socket that plugs into the bulb socket. There are two metric hex bolts that need to be removed from the top of the headlight frame under the hood. The entire plastic headlight will drop out in your hands. In the back of the headlight there is a large plastic ring that must be turned counter-clockwise before the bulb assembly can be removed.
It's important not to touch the glass part of the new bulb with your hands. Double-up a layer of Kleenex between our fingers and the bulb. The reason for this precautionary measure is the natural oil on your fingers will cause a hot-spot on the bulb when it illuminates causing it to fail.
Very carefully wipe *silicone ignition grease on the orange colored O ring at the base of the bulb socket. Silicone grease displaces moisture inside the car electrical socket that plugs into the bulb socket. Depends on the projector. I've never done any work on this particular model. I mostly work with Sony projectors but.. The best way to order a bulb for this unit is to call Toshiba at 1-800-GO-TOSHIBA. Get ahold of someone in Parts or customer service. Tell them what model of projector you have and tell them you need the bulb for that unit. Good Luck! And Happy Projecting!

Change bulbs on 2004 Corolla S OEM fog lights?
I have an '04 Corolla S with the type H3 fog lamps installed (standard). I can crawl under and twist the back off as you would a headlight, but it has a wire attached to the bulb (this type of bulb doesn't come out with the twist off connector). I can't see up there, but can feel around. Does anyone know how to remove the bulb attached to the fog light or how to pop out the entire fog light?
